18 weeks

18 already!

How far Along:  18 Weeks
Weight Gain/Loss: forgot to weigh myself this week!
Symptoms: None! Had some cheese and rice pudding with no problems.
Sleep: Seems pretty good!
Clothes: Have been wearing a belly band even though my pants still technically button- just more comfortable that way! Shirts are still mostly fine.
Cravings: None really
Movement: I am now positive the 'twitches' I felt in my lower abdomen on my drive home from Thanksgiving were in fact baby movements!
Exercise: eh, its overrated! I will be going back to yoga after Nutcracker/ the holidays
What I Miss: Thanksgiving was a little crazy, would have been nice to take the edge off with a glass of wine! I know they say a small glass is ok... but I would never hear the end of that with my family and would never forgive myself if there was a problem with baby!
Moment of the Week:Most of the Thanksgiving moments were pretty memorable!
Looking forward to: Our ultrasound is is 2 weeks, and Nutcracker starts then too!
Next Appointment: December 10th

Gobble Gobble!

My sister came down Tuesday night to spend Thanksgiving with us! B and I were both sleeping when she arrived but Luna heard her and was able to greet her.

We made cinnamon rolls on Wednesday as well as prepared some appetizers for the next day. Surprisingly, the grocery store wasn't that busy! We made a veggie dip and cut all the veggies, stuffed mushrooms, and had pinwheels just in case.

My sister and I left a little later than we intended (she stole my shower!) but made it to my aunt's house in Vermont by 12:30. My mom, brother, 2 of 3 cousins, and grandparents were already there, along with a few others to make 18 total.

My grandmother was already 3 martini's deep and a bit stumbly! My mom was making pumpkin martinis (damn sounded so good!)

The turkey was home raised, and all of the fixings were amazing. I really only had a couple bites of everything- since I wanted to try it all! We had pumpkin, apple, and berry pies- all homemade of course! My family really doesn't do 'fake' or store bought for the holidays which I am very grateful for! I also brought rice pudding that my step mother helped me make!

On the drive home my stomach was acting a bit funny. My right, lower abdomen was twitching. Just a few times, then in a few other places. It felt like a muscle twitch on the inside.

H and I considered heading out this morning to shop. We considered buying a dryer for our dad, they have been without one for 6 months. But he mentioned to her that they might be buying one, and she woke up at 10- so I didn't see risking having to return the dryer and not finding much else to buy at that point.  I might look at what Cyber Monday deals are out there.

Overall a great holiday!

(will add pics when my mom gets them to me!)

Cravings: Salt, I just want things saltier
Movement: Maybe some bubbles but I have no idea

Moment of the Week: Wasn't this week, but too cute not to note. I told one of my students there was something growing in my tummy. He asked "a flower?" "No" "A baby!?" I loved his thought of a flower!

Sleep: Wish I was getting to be earlier but sleeping well

Third Appointment

My third Appointment went very well! B was unable to come with me but I knew this one would be inconsequential.

I was in and out in under 20 minutes, waiting time included.

The medical assistant brought me in, weighed me, and I peed in a cup. She then took my blood pressure and was gone.

I met with the second nurse practitioner, whom I knew I would instantly like! She had on a cute necklace, her hair and nails were done, and she was at least in her 50s!!

I checked with the Dr.'s ability to be on-call, in office, and deliver all of the babies in her practice. Doctors sometimes can't catch a break! Apparently the Dr. has a 90+% delivery rate! I was pretty impressed! I am still not sure I am going to care who is between my legs at that time, but it would still be nice to have a familiar face around.

The NP then felt my belly and we listened to the baby's heartbeat (which she found in a second!) I scheduled my next appointment (big ultrasound!) and I was out of there!

I regained my confidence in the practice and am very excited for me next appointment!
